Georgetown Impact Policies
Indoor Volleyball Protocols
Practices, programming and events will generally only be cancelled if a venue permit is revoked (e.g., due to school board closures and/or school board permit cancellations).
Unless otherwise communicated, all events are presumed to be running. If a cancellation occurs, an update will be posted on the Georgetown Impact’s Instagram page and Facebook page. There is no set timeframe for cancellation decisions as they are triggered by permit cancellations, which is out of Georgetown Impact’s control.
Be aware that school boards can revoke permits with little or no notice. The GIVC monitors weather conditions closely and stays in contact with the GIVC Executive, the GIVC coaching staff, team managers the day prior to assess potential impacts. School boards have until 5:00pm the day of the permit to cancel.
Efforts will be made to reschedule sessions canceled due to weather, though it is not guaranteed.
Beach Volleyball Protocols
As beach volleyball is an outdoor sport, all our beach programs will run, rain or shine. Only in EXTREME and/or EXCEPTIONAL (i.e. lightning) and unpredicted weather circumstances, will play be cancelled. All cancellations will occur onsite, unless a municipality officially closes the playing area.
During heat warnings, sessions will proceed, but additional water and rest breaks will be provided to ensure the participants’ well-being.
